OleoPine resins are polyol esters of  naturally renewable tall oil rosin designed specifically for the replacement of gum rosin in non-reactive applications.

 

They are oxidative stable, light colour, non-crystallizing and low odour properties makes them ideal to exceed expected performance in non-reactive based formulations and many other applications.

 

It  is well known, both gum, tall oil and wood rosins, on storage may gradually crystallize. The presence of crystals in rosin is a serious objection to its use, since the crystallized rosin has a higher melting point than that of the uncrystallized rosin. The crystallized rosin will enter into reaction with other materials much more slowly than will uncrystallized rosin. Further, commercial gum rosins are produced from a variety of pine tree species, some have higher tendency to crystallize than others in adhesive formulations.

 

Commercial gum rosin is prone to oxidation that influence colour and viscosity stability.

 

It is for these reasons that IOP developed OleoPine range that is oxidative stable,  light colour, non-crystallizing and low odour properties. It makes them ideal to exceed expected performance in non-reactive based formulations and many other applications.

OleoPine range find its use in these hot melt formulations to impart excellent specific adhesion to the surfaces or substrates.
